Meet Frank and Ethel Grolto
Frank and Ethel Grolto are in their early 60s and have been married for almost 40 years. Age is beginning to take its toll both physically and mentally, but they always manage to find humor in growing old together. They have two adult children and are beginning to be blessed with grandchildren. They are devoted to each other in the covenant of marriage and have a strong Christian faith. They pray together each day and are always looking for new, exciting, and fun but serious marriage-related devotionals.
Frank is a balding, absentminded Professor of Engineering, nearing retirement. In addition to teaching college classes, he also writes textbooks, Bible study material, and Christian-themed books. Frank thinks social media is only for family pictures, humor, and Christian witnessing. He is overly concerned about how old he looks. High on his bucket list is that one of his books, videos, websites, or social media posts goes viral. You would think that after nearly 40 years of marriage Frank would understand women, but he is often clueless.
Ethel is a retired nurse who is now a homemaker, having raised their two children. She manages the home, loves to cook, and tries to keep Frank in line. She doesn’t think Frank is as funny as he thinks he is. Ethel has a quick wit and occasionally comes up with some great one-liners. While Frank is still struggling to understand women, Ethel understood men even before she married Frank.
